PCMA PHL Mentorship Program

Calling all mentors and mentees! Interested in deeper connections within the hospitality industry? The PCMA Greater Philadelphia Chapter is excited to kick off its second year of the Mentorship Program! This initiative pairs student and NextGen members with industry professionals for one-to-one mentorships, focusing on career paths, goal setting, professional communication, and maximizing summer jobs or internships.

Applications are due September 20, 2024.

 STUDENT/NEXTGEN MENTEE REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a student or young professional (within 2 years of graduating).
  • Be a PCMA Greater Philadelphia Chapter member (student or NextGen membership category required). Not a member? Student memberships are free, and NextGen memberships are discounted.

 INDUSTRY MENTOR REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a current events industry professional or retired from the events industry.
  • People from all career paths are encouraged to apply including suppliers and planners.
  • Must be a current PCMA Greater Philadelphia Chapter member (professional, supplier, emeritus, or secondary chapter member).

PROGRAM & APPLICATIONS

  • Maintain regular communication with your mentor/mentee, ideally 1x/month.
  • Complete brief surveys/check-ins regarding the program.
  • The program will run from October 2024 through March 2025.
  • Applications are due September 20, 2024.

BENEFITS

  • Membership to PCMA and the Greater Philadelphia Chapter are FREE for students, and highly discounted for NextGen professionals.
  • There is no fee (beyond PCMA membership) to participate in the mentorship program.
  • Expand your network with the opportunity to gain connections, professional knowledge, and experience from your mentor.
  • Training materials and resources will be provided to guide mentees and mentors through the program.
  • Connect with others on ideas in an ever-changing industry.
  • Share your professional knowledge and experiences to advance our industry during a time when young people might be questioning their hospitality career path.
