The Future of Events: Where Have We Been and Where Are We Headed?

February 11, 2021 @ 10:00 am11:30 am EST

Please join us for the February education session, The Future of Events: Where Have We Been and Where Are We Headed?
Thursday, February 11, 2021
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM EST

The theme of this year’s February chapter meeting and subsequent programming will be around the future of events in the current environment, and in the post-pandemic era. As we close the books on 2020 and reflect back on where we’ve been—from our industry shutting down to our move from in-person to virtual events, to our conceiving of what hybrid events will look like, to our considerations around how we can increase and support diversity, equity, and inclusion in our programs and industry—the February meeting will include a discussion from experts in the field on what 2020 taught us and where we are headed in the future.
Learning objectives:
1) Share on how to create successful virtual events that capitalize on the opportunity to reach a wider audience, and lessons learned for the execution of virtual/hybrid events in 2021
2) Discuss how to lead events and event management teams in 2021, including how to lead and structure teams
3) Provide insight on how to ensure that diversity of perspective is included in meeting programs and on event teams

Speakers include:

Belinda Harvey, CMP, CEM
Portfolio Marketing Manager
Produce Marketing Association

Greg DeShields
Executive Director, PHL Diversity, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau
Host, PHL Diversity Podcast

A Message from the Community Service Committee
As we have always done at our in-person events, we are supporting an organization in need as part of the February 11th virtual event. We plan to support the Sacred Heart Recover Residence, a division of Project HOME. The mission of the Project HOME community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. Please help by purchasing items from this Amazon Wish List. Please add a note in your purchase that you are affiliated with PCMA PHL. If you would like to make purchases outside of Amazon, you can use the list as a guide and drop off the donations to the Sacred Heart Recover Residence, 1315 W Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19140. Please note the quantities listed are just a guide. Our support will make a big difference this winter!
