Design Thinking Crash Course
Design Thinking is an empathy driven, human-centered approach that is used to solve the world’s most difficult challenges as well as some of our simpler problems — the kinds of problems that drive us crazy! The process has been applied at the world’s most innovative firms such as Google, Apple, Samsung, and Disney. And it’s more than a process — it’s a mindset that we can carry forward in our daily lives.

In this session Lee-Jung Kim, you will fully immerse yourself into the Design Thinking process by empathizing with your users, coming up with awesome (or weird and wild) ideas, building prototypes, and testing them. There will not be any idle time. You will be PLAYING for the full duration of the session.

Learning Objectives:
1.  Apply the principals of Design Thinking to empathize with users, build prototypes, and test them
2.  Review the Design Thinking process

2:00pm – 2:15pm, Break

2:15pm-3:30pm, Session III
Design Thinking Podium Pearls
Now that you’ve learned and applied the basics of Design Thinking, hear from your own colleagues about how they have redesigned their meetings and events.  This session will focus on the real world application of Design Thinking and Meeting Design, and take home actual examples of how planners have changed their events. This fast paced, fun session will give you ideas that you can apply right away.

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify new and innovative meeting designs that can be applied right away
2. Plan and integrate new meeting designs into your events
